One of the greatest assets of the current Ink Studios printers is the great variety of compatible fine art media. Our printers can print on super thin rice paper, thick poster board, glossy or semigloss RC photo paper, transperant sheets, vinyl, watercolor paper and canvas, just to name a few. Below is a brief discussion of some of the most common substrates. Please note, we always welcome the chance to use different papers and media. Should you have a specific print project in mind using an unlisted media, please let us know as we may have it in stock or would be willing to secure it for you. Recently, all of the media below was independently tested for resistance to fading by the Wilhelm Imaging Research Inc.>
EPSON ENHANCED MATTE
Epson Enhanced Matte is a coated smooth paper, perfect for photographic prints which are then framed. This heavyweight media is extremely bright, and works well when a large range of details in both shadows and highlights is required. It is our most popular paper choice, and one of the most highly valued media in the digital photographic world. It is also available in an extremely heavy posterboard, weighing in at 890gsm with a true thickness of 1.2 mm or 47 mil.

This thick 100% cotton based, acid free, fine art paper is mould made in England. This one is a true treat for the senses. It produces extremely vivid colors and deep blacks on an elegant velvet finish reminicent of museum quality prints. Use it anytime a rich textured watercolor look is needed for your fine art print. This paper is very resistant to UV fading and is considered archival. It is also available in the super thick 36mil format.
SOMERSET VELVET FINE ART
This instant drying RC photo paper produces vivid, lifelike images that rival those of traditional silver halide prints. It's semigloss "E" surface and 10mil thickness produce a true photographic look and feel. We consider this one of the best true photo papers, and recommend it highly anytime a photographic surface is required.

EPSON CANVAS
This media has the true look and feel of an artist's canvas. It is perfect for limited edition art prints. It can be stretched and framed like any other canvas, and can even be embellished with clear acrylic to add a third dimension. Because the surface is susceptible to moisture and physical damage, all of our canvas prints include a clear UV coat to protect your work. Perfect for painters, yet versatile enough for specialized photography projects.
